HTA Celebrates the 2nd Annual Hawaii Food & Wine Festival

The HTA is proud to have sponsored the second annual Hawaii Food & Wine Festival held on Thursday, Sept. 6 through Sunday, Sept. 9. The four-day premier epicurean festival hosted more than 60 world-class chefs, four master sommeliers, top-tier winemakers, local farmers and artisan food producers and innovators from across the Pacific. The Festival anticipates having attracted more than 3,000 attendees to its special events held at The MODERN Honolulu, Halekulani, Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa, Hyatt Regency Waikiki, Ko Olina Resort with Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa and JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa.

Proceeds from the Festival will benefit five local non-profit organizations including the Hawaii Agricultural Foundation, University of Hawaii Culinary Institute of the Pacific, Leeward Community College Culinary Arts Program, Paepae o Heeia and Papahana Kualoa.

Mahalo to the event chairs, Chefs Roy Yamaguchi and Alan Wong for bringing some of the world’s best chefs to the Hawaiian Islands to showcase the state’s bounty of local ingredients, and distinguish Hawaii as an international culinary epicenter. Mahalo also to the sponsors, participants and attendees for supporting this event. We look forward to helping make this an even greater success next year. DIACRITICALS

HawaiiTourismAuthority.org recognizes the use of diacritical markings of the (modern) Hawaiian language including the `okina [`] or glottal stop and the kahakō [ō] or macron (e.g., in place names of Hawai`i such as Lāna'i). However, you may notice these diacritical markings have been omitted throughout the website to ensure the best online experience for our visitors. HawaiiTourismAuthority.org recognizes the importance of using these markings to preserve the language and culture of Hawaii and respectfully uses them in all communications beyond the online platform.
