New Airlift to the Hawaiian Islands

Hawaii’s tourism economy has attracted additional airlift to meet the growing travel demand to the Hawaiian Islands as the result of strong visitor arrivals and spending.

The HTA, through its access program, will continue to actively work to develop and maintain airlift to the Hawaiian Islands to meet demand. Airlift to Hawaii this year is in sync with HTA’s projected growth in airline seat capacity. HTA anticipates this growth will contribute to a strong 2012 winter season for Hawaii’s visitor industry, helping to sustain job growth in our economy.

Below is a chart of recent and upcoming new routes and increased inventory from existing routes. This chart does not include incremental airlift from charter flights. For more information on the HTA’s 2012 Q3 airlift outlook, click here.
