The HTA is pleased to welcome Randy Baldemor as its chief operating officer (COO). Prior to joining the HTA, he was serving as the deputy director for the State Department of Human Resources.

“I am honored to join the HTA ohana at such a pivotal time,” said Baldemor. “Tourism is one of Hawaii’s largest economic drivers and as the new COO, I look forward to working with our HTA staff and partners to ensure our state agency runs efficiently and effectively to sustain the success of our visitor industry.”

Marc Togashi was also promoted to vice president of finance. He joined the HTA in 2011 as its fiscal manager and prior to that was with public accounting firm KPMG LLC. Togashi received his Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and finance and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Hawaii’s Shidler College of Business.

“Randy will be a tremendous asset to the HTA team with his vast experience in both state government and the private sector,” said George Szigeti, HTA president and CEO. “And Marc’s promotion is a testament to his hard work and leadership. I look forward to working closely with my new executive team as we begin a new chapter for the HTA and look at new and creative ways to support the state’s lead economic driver.”

Baldemor’s term began on June 9 and Togashi’s promotion was effective on June 8.
