Sports

Sporting events can enhance Hawaii’s economy, image and quality of life.  Recognizing these benefits, HTA developed a sports marketing program designed to increase Hawaii’s sports presence to a globally competitive level, diversify the visitor experience, highlight the State’s diversity and build a sustainable sport tourism market.

Designed to help HTA achieve its goal of growing visitor expenditures, program benefits to the State of Hawaii of this include:

  1. Economic impact. People coming to Hawaii to participate, attend or operate events translates to visitor spending, which helps to create and sustain jobs, and generate state and local tax revenues.
  2. Media Coverage. Positive media and publicity generated from national and international TV / media coverage helps to showcase Hawaii as an attractive visitor destination and a desirable sports venue.
  3. Enhancing Residents' Quality of Life. Sporting events provide residents with opportunities to attend or participate in additional leisure activities which add to our quality of life. In addition, each event requires the support of numerous volunteers. For many people who take part in these types of events, they do so to be able to personally contribute and to be part of something important.  Lastly, with almost every major event having a charitable component to them, participants and organizers are able to give back to our island communities.

Event Sponsorship Proposals

HTA is always open to exploring new sporting event opportunities.  If your event meets the above goals, please submit a formal request to HTASponsorship@ascendentsg.com.

Due to the high influx of proposals received, we will only review those which are complete and include the following details:  tourism support & benefits for community, media assets, content opportunities, alignment with HTA brand & objectives, and proposed fee.  All submissions will receive a response regardless of the outcome of our review.
