Planning Process

Planning Process

HTA developed the Oahu Destination Management Action Plan (DMAP) over the course of five months in partnership with the City & County of Honolulu. Six steering committee meetings took place. The community also had the opportunity to participate through community presentations on May 4 and 5 and provided feedback via an online webform. The DMAP writers, along with HTA and the County, crafted the plan. The draft DMAP was approved by the HTA board in July 2021.

Community Meetings

Two facilitated Oahu Community Destination Management Action Plan community presentations were held on May 4 and 5, 2021. Over 500 residents attended the meetings.  The purpose of the two and a half hour presentation was to explain the DMAP process to the public, share the Steering Committee’s proposed draft actions, and have the public provide feedback to the proposed draft actions.
